MiNome — Feel when your name is called

For most of us, hearing someone call our name is something we take for granted. But for someone with hearing difficulties, that simple moment can easily be missed.

MiNome started with an idea: what if a small wearable device could recognize when someone calls your name and gently alert you through vibration?

The goal is to create a discreet, personalized device that listens for a specific name and provides a tactile notification, helping its wearer notice when someone is trying to get their attention.

The project is still under development. I'm experimenting with on-device voice recognition using Arduino Nicla Voice, with the aim of making it work independently, without constantly relying on a smartphone.

Like my other projects, I hope to eventually share the design, code, and what I've learned along the way.

More to share as this takes shape.
